Arbre produisant un bois précieux dont il est question dans la Bible et qui semble être une variété d'acacia. Le quartier des tisserands, où les dromadaires, montés par les marchands d'Asie, viennent, chargés de bois de sétim, de pourpre et de fin lin (VILLIERS DE L'I.-A., Contes cruels, 1883, p. 374).
